THE EXCLUSIVE MMR PRE - EVENT!

 M M R   P R E  F A S H I O N   E V E N T

This past weekend had lost its chill button. After attending the overnight service that was rhythm unlugged, I had to get up in time to look presentable at a stage play my good friend Kolade was participating in at Muson centre.  Right after that, it was off to my favorite place on earth called  MILIKI to take pictures of their private live band/jazz event which was so amazing. Then I had to leave in a rush to go to the

 M U S  I  C    M E E T S    R U N W A Y   P R E   E V E N T

  at a swanky new hotel on Adetokumbo Ademola called M A I S O N    F A H R E N H E I T!

They honestly could not have chosen a better location because that hotel was beautiful and their rooftop space may just turn out to be the new hot spot in Lagos and who better to pull just the right sort of crowd?
MUSIC MEETS RUNWAY OFCOURSE!

Anyway I got there at a very late appropriate time and all the fabulously dressed music and fashion people started trooping in soon after. I got to see the girls that modeled the clothes by the finalists and I must say that they looked smashing! I loved !

The champagne sponsor GH MUMM was on hand to keep everyone’s glasses filled and I do mean that literally; their waiters were everywhere you turn and before you could ask, they were right by your side topping you off! And it’s such a good bubbly, yummy. I wish I could have had more than a sip but I only do one drink per evening if I am driving and the good people at Miliki literally force fed me the finest white wine you can think of. Therefore I could not indulge!

Great GH MUMM and  MMR collaboration!

I have to say that the exclusive event turned out to be one of the hottest ticket in town because the rooftop which was quite spacious when I arrived had shrunk to the size of a sardine can by the time my Lagos people were done arriving and there was still a huge crowd outside waiting to get in. Trust my Lagos people, wherever it is exclusive is where they want to be

Unfortunately I couldn’t stay because I literally couldn’t keep my eyes open and there were far too many people there but I got an exclusive peek at the girls in their clothes before I faded!

EMEM ISONG'S CHAMPAGNE - FILM PREMIERE!

Last weekend was packed to the fullest and I hardly got any sleep but who cares?! That’s the typical December in Lagos! My Friday started at Silverbird Galleria, with the premiere of one of the highly anticipated Nigerian movies from one of the most capable, not to mention successful, hands in the business; Emem Isong! The movie

C H A M P A G N E

Which was shot in South Africa and the United states and just happens to be

E  M  E  M   I  S  O  N  G’s

directorial debut and she was assisted by one of my favorite people who just happens to be her sister

U D U A K    O G U A M A N A M!

The premiere started around 7pm and in no time, the stars arrived and did the rounds- pictures, interviews, selfies and what not. I don’t get Star struck because I see most of these guys quite often but when they are in their element, it’s always fun to watch! However, there were two people who had everyone in awe-

M A J I D   M I C H E L & D E S M O N D  O L U S O L A   E L L I O T!

You have to add the “Olusola” these days to avoid misunderstanding o!  Everyone wanted a piece of Majid and  Desmond and the reason is simple- they are so charming and lovable! And I have to say that they obliged everyone, took  every single selfie and I do mean every last one, posed and did pretty much what we asked and they did not give off any airs. (can’t say the same for some other actors sha o)

The film stars Nollywood’s favorite bad boy- Alex Ekubo, Majid Michel, South African actress Rosemary Zimu, Tana Adelana, Susan Peters  and Charles Novia even did a cameo! Yep, you read that right. I almost couldn’t believe it but there he was on the screen.

It was a very good group of people and the story was very interesting. Alex was such a bad boy in this one and Majid made me almost wish it was me he was toasting! The writers gave him the sexiest lines

A N T H O N Y    K E H I N D E   J O S E P H  AND   U D U A K wrote the script so I wasn’t surprised! These two are the most camera shy people I know and as such, I have no pictures of them, sadly.

We all filed into the cinema and after Funky Mallam made all the necessary introductions, the film was underway. Trust Nigerians and their outbursts in the cinema, they did all the “Ah ahn” and “na lie” and all the rest which made it more fun for me. Congratulations to Royal Art Academy for another successful production and for hosting a fun premiere!

Here are a few pictures from the night before I had to scram to the night vigil concert that turned out to be Rhythm Unplugged!  That is a whole other post all together.

Enjoy!

MUSIC MEETS RUNWAY NEWS - SAUTI SOL IS COMING TO TOWN!!

As if I wasn't excited before about music meets runway, the organizers just had to finish me off by announcing that my favorite Kenyan group - S A U T I   S O L will be in the line up! *faints*

I have been such a huge fan of these guys for a while (and it's not just because of the N I K I S H I K E  video) and I was just thinking the other day what a treat it will be if they would just show up at one of these end of year music shows and voila! my fairy god mother AKA music meets runway people heard me.

The group has had such huge commercial success in Kenya and have slowly seeped into the Nigerian airwaves. Their remix of the song  S U R A   Y A K O with   I Y A N Y A also helped a bit but personally I was fine with just them but that's not the point! I'm excited to see them and so should you!

The show is just four days away and you can get your tickets at www.afritickets.com www.naijaticketshop.com www.dealdey.com , at the Eko Hotel reception Silverbird and Ozone cinemas!
